Coaching: each situation is unique

How am I going to take over this new management assignment ? How can I lead my team efficiently through change ? How can I get my team to work together and be motivated ? I am taking over a business unit outside my native country and need to adapt but how ? I have been promoted to the headquarters and I am feeling difficulties integrating a new culture at work and in my personal life.
How can I balance my professional and personal life better ? I want to improve my communication skills. How can I better support the human component when launching an innovative educational program ?
These are just some of the questions that can be a start to a coaching approach.

The business and management environment has become more opened and more complex in its cultural, generational and professional aspects. Fast growing organizations, mergers, moving change in organization put the human dimension interactions at the heart of performance and competitiveness.

Coaching is a development tool for managers and leaders that want to improve any key elements in their management style or attitude, in their communication skills.

At Open Move, we believe that personal development is the key to individual and team performance.

Clarifying the goals

The goals of coaching vary from one situation to another, from one individual to another:

Clarifying the goals with the person to be coached, the Human Resources Director or the Hierarchy is a keystone to a successful coaching experience.
It allows to define the framework of the process and how the relation is going to develop in a given timeframe.
It allows to create a relation between all parties based on confidence and respect of confidentiality
It is based on open communication in order to agree on the «rules of the game». Confidentiality is the common basis for everyone

Some of the possible goals for a coaching:

  • Succeed in taking over a new assignement: "in new country", "coming back home", "at the headquarter"
  • Finding your management style
  • Improving the impact of key moments of management: meetings, individual interviews, recruitment interviews
  • Managing challenging relations: intercultural, intergenerational
  • Driving a change management situation
  • Driving teams through a crisis situation
  • Managing relations in a team or with colleagues
  • Communication skills: performance coaching for a meeting or a conference

The coaching process is unique and adapted to the person to be coached

The aim is create the best possible environment for you to understand your personality , your strengths and areas of progress in your management, in your communication and relations with others, in your negociations by:

  • finding the right blend between open questioning, the introduction of «tools» such as 360°, "Profil4Colors", mind mapping, and suchlike.
  • helping you to clarify ideas, words and create the meaning that is right for you, to help elaborate your personalized plan for change.
  • co-creating opportunities to learn during the coaching sessions but also in between and after.

In that way you can act on your goals on a daily basis, in a stronger independent way.
